Right now, there are 313 million people on Quora eagerly searching for answers.

Yet most SaaS companies completely ignore this goldmine of targeted traffic.

When done right, Quora can result in a flood of new leads and customers.

Unfortunately, most SaaS founders completely overlook Quora as a source of traffic. Here are the main reasons why:

The #1 reason SaaS founders don’t leverage Quora: They don’t realize the sheer size of the opportunity.

Some other reasons are:

  • They think it’s just a Q&A site, not a traffic source
  • They don’t know how to optimize their profiles and questions
  • They think Quora is old news and doesn’t work anymore

If you’re struggling to bring in traffic to your SaaS website and want to do it for free, Quora is a great place to start.

In this post, I’ll show you step-by-step how to master Quora marketing and tap into its vast audience to drive targeted traffic to your site.

So, let’s start.

Step 1: Build Your Profile Right

Crafting the perfect profile is crucial – it builds instant authority so readers trust your answers.

When signing up, Quora will ask you to specify topics of interest – be sure to choose at least 10 related to your niche.

This curates your feed to easily find relevant questions later.

Next comes your Bio.

Be concise yet impactful – summarize impressive credentials and qualifications in just a few sentences.

For example, a SaaS marketer could highlight in their bio: “Growth Marketer at XYZ with 10+ years experience scaling startups. Helped [X] generate $1M in new revenue.”

This immediately signals this person knows their stuff.

Readers engage more with answers when they come from an authoritative profile.

The results? Your answers get more upvotes, shares and traffic.

(I intentionally didn’t talk about adding a professional DP because I know you won’t miss that)

Step 2: Find Relevant Questions

To get maximum exposure on Quora, you need to find popular questions that don’t have many good answers yet.

The best way to do this is by searching Google like this:

site:quora.com [your keyword] “1 answer” “k views”

This will show you Quora questions that match your keyword, have only 1 answer, but have over 1,000 views.

For example, if your SaaS is an analytics tool that is an alternative to Google Analytics , you could be interested in keywords like Google Analytics, Ga4, privacy-friendly analytics etc:

site:quora.com google analytics “1 answer” “k views”

It will find questions related to your keyword with just one answer but with many views (you can play around with the variables here)

But this is essentially where you want to be!

These are prime targets for you to answer thoroughly.

Since there’s only one other response so far, you have a good chance of becoming the top-rated answer.

This allows you to showcase your expertise to a targeted audience. You can mention your product or business if relevant, driving interested visitors to your site.

Step 3: Format Your Answers Properly

The key to success in Quora is crafting detailed, helpful answers – not overly promotional ones. Focus on quality content that provides real value for readers.

Here are some tips for formatting your Quora answers to maximize engagement and traffic:

  • Use visuals like screenshots, charts or videos when helpful. This breaks up blocks of text and keeps readers engaged.
  • Be exhaustive and thorough. The more comprehensive your answer, the more it builds trust and authority. Cover every relevant angle.
  • Format answers clearly with section headings and lists. This improves readability so readers stick around.
  • Write conversationally in simple, natural language. Don’t be overly formal. Connect with readers by writing as you’d speak.
  • Carefully choose when to link to external resources. Only include links where truly useful, not for promotion.

The goal is to provide the best answer on Quora. This earns upvotes, shares and traffic over time.

.Just stay focused on delivering value, not pitchy promos.

Step 4: Keep at it

You’re not going to get millions of traffic from the first answer you write.

It takes time to build momentum on any free traffic platform.

You need to be patient and keep answering all the questions relevant to your niche that you found in Step #2.

Over a period of a month or two, you’ll start seeing results.

Make sure when that happens, your SaaS website is optimized and ready to convert all those visitors into paying customers.

One Last Thing: If you can answer at least 100 questions weekly you will increase the chance of getting traffic. That is around 20 questions a day.

Wrapping Up

Quora offers a world of targeted traffic potential. But like anything worth having, it requires commitment and patience.

Stick with it, keep providing thoughtful answers, and build your reputation over time.

The payoff will come if you stay focused on delivering insane value for readers with no strings attached.

Just remember – if you build it, the traffic will come.

That’s it for today.

See you next week.
